Korbyt Signage

What is Korbyt?

Korbyt is a workplace experience platform that transforms digital signage and screens into active points of communication, engagement and enhanced productivity.  They do more than just digital signage but we have purchased their solution in order to replace our existing FourWinds players.  Feel free to watch their marketing video about the product below to learn more.

How are we rolling this out to campus?

We began the Korbyt transition in the early part of May of 2023.  We are getting close to converting all of the campus players over to Korbyt and will begin training on the product in the early part of June.  Here is a quick outline of our project rollout:

  1. Setup and Configuration – On May 1st, we brought the new system online and began the initial configuration steps to prepare for this transition (SSO, players, users, and more).
  2. Content Transition – On May 14th, we began setting content playlists to match the ones that were currently running in FourWinds on each of your players. 
  3. Transition Players – From May 14th to June 1st, we will be taking replicated content that was set up on your existing FourWinds player and converting your device over to the Korbyt solution.  You won’t have to do anything and should not notice a difference when your player is converted.
    • This means that any changes that you make to FourWinds will not be moved over since your player will now be running the replicated content that was pulled on May 14th.
  4. End User Training – In early June, we will begin setting up virtual training sessions to help you learn more about how to use and manage your digital signs.  These will be recorded and we will bring a new website online with the recorded content. 
  5. Project Closure – In the middle part of June, we will verify that all of the signs are online, bring the new training/information website online, and redevelop our process documents for installing new and/or modifying existing digital signage equipment.

Who gets access to Korbyt?

We are current granting access to Korbyt to those that are defined as a content owner of a digital sign.  If you are taking over a digital sign or replacing someone that is a current content owner, please reach out to the IT Support HelpDesk to request access to the system.

Note:  As a content owner, you are responsible to watching all of the training content to better understand how to manage your sign.
